Since we purchased the property from the children of the original owners and we moved at the very end of January when everything was dormant, we have no clear idea of what vegetation we have here. I’ve heard we have blackberries, hostas, some rare irises. The first weekend we were here we we greated by our first yellow aconite (buttercups). They’re so chipper and have been very resilient through our mild-yet-moist February. Aside from these beauties, the coming spring flowers are somewhat of a secret that The Tenderfoot is keeping.
I am so eager for the weekend, when we’ll bring out the rakes and clean out the leaves and debris. Just today I found buds, bulbs and shoots. Everything’s about to POP! and it’s not even March.
